I'm Jo, a Peruvian-American children's illustrator and writer living in Portugal. Though I've been doodling since I was small, my first taste of professional artist life came in the fourth grade. A drawing of mine was featured in a school newsletter and, after this incredible success of being printed alongside literally anyone else who had sent in a submission, I was smitten. It's been years since and I am still eager to create and share stories with humor, whimsy, and heart.

When I'm not playing around with gouache or coloured pencils, I enjoy braving the hills on my bike (not e-powered, just me-powered) and sketching what I see along the way.
