I'm Jo, a Peruvian-American children's illustrator and writer living in Portugal. Though I've been doodling since I could hold a pencil, my first taste of the professional artist life came in fourth grade when a drawing of mine was featured in a school newsletter. After this incredible success of being printed alongside literally anyone else who had sent in a submission, I was smitten. It's been years since and my hope to create and share stories with humor, whimsy, and heart has only grown.

When I'm not playing around with gouache or coloured pencils, I enjoy braving the hills on my bike (not e-powered, just me-powered) and sketching what I see along the way.
